I did not like Rahm being selected, but I really worried when reading about how he was at all meetings and O would let him have the last word and then nod along with him, taking his thought for his. I do not like Rahm's thoughts. I do not. that is not what we elected, anymore than people who elected Bush II wanted Rove for the most part.
And it is documented that Cheney very much wanted to bomb Iran and called the military heads in on his own and pushed it. they 1 - said 'uhm, no, bad idea' 2 - said this is something we need to talk to our CIC about. that is how out of control Cheney had become. anyways, so the military goes to Bush II, tells them what Cheney wants and why it is a bad idea, and Bush II says... k, no bomb. If Bush II did nothing else in his last year, he kept Cheney's finger off the trigger.
But sadly, I think if Obama keeps Rahm as his Rove, things will go no better than they did under Bush II.
A strain you can find as you read about Presidents and who did well and who did what... those with a very strong woman beside them tended to do better. We shall see what Michelle is made of. will she stand up for the SouthSide, or let Rahm and Larry run roughshod over us all, and her husband.
btw - I can not imagine enjoying having a beer with any lobbyist. okay, maybe if they were paying and I slipped out real quick after I guzzled it. |
