Cornelis, John, and Brian, thanks for the info. I've checked out about 20 on-line brokers looking for the perfect one, and have only found one thing; nobodies perfect. E*Trade (who I use now) has a very nice package of services and resource that's hard to beat. Also, when I used Fidelities commission calculator to check against my E*Trade actuals, E*Trade won by considerable margins each time. (John, E*Trade rates: options, $20 plus 1.75 per contract, NASDAQ $19.95, NYSE $14.95). Of course, commissions are peanuts compared to what executions or missed trades can cost you. If I could have accessed E*Trade and made even one trade last Tuesday, I could have made enough to pay commissions for a year. Did anyone try to use Fidelity (either thru the web or by phone) to make a trade last Tuesday and were you able to get thru?
Just another one of those ho hum up about $2 on high volume again days for good ole WinStar. If we can just keep the overall market somewhat orderly, look out above.
Dub, you must be liking option trading by now :-) |
