With all respect to Buffett, the "do no evil" nice folksy guy with common sense wisdom pearls is just an image. If you start digging, like you just did, you'll find a lot of contradictions:

- He always complains about management compensation, but he never voted against it or did anything to make enemies with overpaid CEOs in the companies he invested in.

- He happily does takeunders that potentially screw long term shareholders in a company.

- He invests and supports the likes of GS and WFC who are partially responsible for the same financial Armageddon he was complaining about.

It's the same with his investment "wisdom". There is no "Buffett way" of investing. The guy may sing the same tune of "buying great companies at good prices with great management and holding forever", but he certainly dances very different dances. He short-term sells if needed. He does derivatives. He holds commodity and currency positions. And I am sure that if BRK was a lot smaller, he would do even more "outrageous" things that are inconsistent with his main mantra. :)

He is still great investor and probably rather decent human being. But saint he ain't. ;)

I really need to read "Snowball" which presumably shows at least part of what I was just talking about.
