It's stunning what a Republican victory in Mass. can do.
Now we just watch. Maybe hopes for change were not in vain.
Volcker is back -g-

"The return of Mr Volcker also raises further doubts about the
security of Mr Geithner’s position in the Obama
administration. For months, in speeches, interviews and
private meetings in Capitol Hill and in New York, Mr Volcker
has made the case for a more far-reaching reform of the
financial sector. Not, he says, a return to Glass-Steagall,
the law dividing commercial from investment banks that was
abolished in 1999, but a return to its “spirit”.

For most of that time, Mr Geithner and his team, working with
Democratic leaders such as Barney Frank in Congress, thrashed
out what they called “comprehensive” regulatory reform."
