It seems rather prudent that Medicare aged folk get colonoscopies in a hospital setting, preceded by an EKG, considering that anesthesia is used. Maybe not necessary for new retirees like you and me with no current health conditions, but such prudence becomes more reasonable as you increase the age.

Medicare probably makes blanket rulings. Perhaps some of them could be tweaked and assigned age classifications.
