Sankar - IMHO, that is only part of the problem (re: competing with CSCO.) Other tangential problems like slow down (to 30 - 50% annual growth <g>) and increase competitions are compounded with a great deal of perceptual problems. Right now, b/c of many failures previously, the street is skeptical about mergers (of equal.) However, the greatest perceptual problems are ASND mgt (which comprises of ASND and CSCC mgrs.) On top of its credibility gap - real or imaginary - it is not really that street friendly. It blew off a conf mtg a couple of mos ago. Its PRs are poorly worded (take a look at today's revenue growth story and how it is being interpreted.) I bought last week b/c I thought it could not be worse (after reading the Fortune's article.) Then, lo and behold, it (ASS-END mgt) outdid itself today <sg>! Personally, I ve begun to question my bottomfishing expedition, so I will watch to see if ASS-END mgt can undo some of its own self-inflicted damage. rgds Bosco
