BCB - I generally like the editorials from IBD, but this line

The current total electricity capacity from all U.S. energy sources is about 1,000 megawatts

was a real brain cramp. The US electrical generating capacity is about a million megawatts, not a thousand. A power plant that generates 1,000MW serves a modest-sized city.

So - was the line about Salazar's wind-energy proposal (Ken Salazar, talked of garnering 3,000 megawatts of wind-power capacity off the East Coast) a similar brain cramp? If the quote was accurate, 3,000MW from wind power is actually a fairly modest and achievable goal. If Salazar meant 3 million MW, then ... well ... let's just say his knowledge of energy is consistent with his boss' knowledge of economics.
