OTOH, my ideas about which pieces should be brought to the table will likely differ from that of the Dems. For example, they will probably propose mandatory guaranteed issue where I would require all policies be offered with a guaranteed renewal option. But at least the questions can be aired and discussed better in smaller packages.

It would help to have a cogent analysis (which would, by necessity, be conducted by people who aren't politicians) with reasonable recommendations.

For example (just an example), what if you had CBO, instead of scoring the "fix" after the fact, actually recommend what the fix should be (I realize that isn't their function in life)?

We need some kind of non- or minimally-political analysis of the problem before they start throwing money at it.
