Watching the Dems squander the post-GWB frustration, openness to rational discussion, willingness to for some measure of self-sacrifice, etc... is looking like GWB's squandering of the global good will post - 9/11.

That is a very apt comparison. A huge mass of people in the middle who were suddenly excited by politics again, are about to hit the MUTE button and go back to ignoring all the Beltway clowns and their antics.

I hope Harry Reid gets crushed in his re-election campaign, now that the 60-seat supermajority is a distant memory anyway.
