Hi Rose. Corporations don't get a vote. There is a very great gap between donating money for politicians and getting them actually elected. I back act.org.nz and they had excellent financial backing a decade ago, but electoral results did not follow accordingly. The money seemed to me counter productive in that the voters saw an over-endowed "bunch of greedies" and voted them down just to show who was boss. Voters are like experimental rats - they do pretty much as they please and constantly frustrated the theoreticians on just how they should behave. When voters want something, that's what they'll get, complete with unintended consequences, to the destination paved with good intentions. Normally they get it good and hard. "Groan...
