She sounds like a kind and caring Granny, and one that had a hard life, so she had to develop a thick skin to get by. Sewing pockets into sweaters just because she knew you'd like that, shows her kind and caring heart. Keeping the old marbles and toys and yes, the old lawn mower are all signs of that... Just for the heck of it, and I'm having to rest and ice my foot (acute plantar fascitis attack), I went out to look up some sites that would show all sorts of antique marbles. I learned that maybe I have the old clay ones, instead of the wooden ones...so I have to check them again. I LOVE the special blown glass ones that look like miniature paperweights, especially if they have any mica in them... Here's some links I found when you have time to look...
