I have an in-law that was blinded in HS by a stupid accident (his fault but in HS some folks feel nothing can happen to them)...
He with the help of his family, went to college, learned braille, had readers, tutors, and then went to Law School.
Today he is a lawyer, no longer in practice for himself, went back to the University, got an extra degree in Social work, and works today on behalf of the folks who need that extra help.
He does not sit around and moan& groan about life's sidebars....He is a dooer, not a complainer. He skis, can get around by himself, went to Europe with some assistance but not much...Amazing guy! I'd love to have him write a book...it would be motivational, for sure.
He and his family are Dems, but ones that I can well appreciate (forgetting the specific politics)... |
