The UN is a work in progress and unfortunately, might makes right in most situations. You might know that Tibet now belongs to China. Taiwan might do too one of these days [China thinks it already does]. Hutus mass-murdered Tsutsis - UN stood by. Darfur has not been a land of civility. Cambodia was very icky. The UN seems to be obsessive about Israel which harms almost nobody and only in response to attacks on Israelis. The Serbs were bombed into submission and Moslems given victory. The UN constitution is absurd and hardly a good basis for a legal system defining geopolitical and other property rights. For example, Fiji and India have comparable voting rights. France has more say than India. Japan has not as much as Russia. Mqurice
