It would be great if Bernanke would not get confirmed but then Obama would have to come up with a new pick, and that's an impossible pick. To get someone that would truly fix the problem would require appointing a chairman that would clamp down on banks rather than showering them with free money at the expense of the taxpayers. Bernanke is a politician's dream just as Greenspan was - floods the system with money, creates false good time economy, and kicks the can down the road. We're down the road from Greenspan and the drill for the politicians is the same. Wash, rinse, repeat. Bernanke's their man.
