They want gridlock badly so they can make profits without worrying about the concerns of the average guy. The gridlock helps the average guy, compared to the alternative. It does this directly, and also through increased wealth creation and profitability. Gridlock does not help the average guy. Not having health care reform does not help the average guy. Not regulating the bank and finance industries does not help the average guy. Not regulating Wall Street does not help the average. Not having stimulus does not help the average guy. Anything with the R stamp on it screws the average guy and helps the rich.
