I'm not convinced. What I see is a very long recession, one now more than two years old, that is running it's course, i.e. following the typical business cycle.

Well, if you're not convinced, Kate, there's little I can do to persuade you. Best I can tell, however, there are few economists who don't see it as the worst since the great depression and one that was on the cusp of taking us down. The economists I read differ only in the proper cure.

As for whether the Obama stimulus planned helped or not, or helped a little or not, I've not seen any persuasive arguments that it did not help. I would have liked to have seen more and to have more targeted for long term infrastructure work but the stuff that's out there looks to have made a difference.
