Lots more fills for me today.

More GDL and SEB.

finance.yahoo.com

I'll take more SEB because shipping container rates may be improving, and SEB is diversified (with their pork products). Company's been profitable every year past ten. Stock about at stated bv. In past years though stock has traded at .7x bv. Otoh, company now has a good cash position to go along with its ltd. (Stock at about $1200 with cash/sh = $364, according to Yahoo.) Kahn Brothers (value investors) still in it, from what I can see.

More SMHG. This asset manager is undervalued the way I look at assets under management compared to market capitalization.
finance.yahoo.com

More Penske Automotive (PAG): I assume the stock was down more than normally because of this announcement: "Penske will offer 5.75 million in common shares of its automotive retail division in a secondary offer, the company said Friday."

Maybe traders/investors did not believe this, or were ignoring it: "Penske Automotive Group Inc. said the offering would not be dilutive to shareholders, but shares slid on Friday."
finance.yahoo.com

Somebody's going to be selling all the hybrid and electric and nat gas vehicles. Penske will have its share, I am believing.

CKH. Should be a beneficiary of off-shore exploration. And the farther off-shore the exploration, maybe the more the benefit. (ships and copters to service those rigs). Co. profitable every year past ten; now sells below stated book value.
finance.yahoo.com

Continuing to add to my position in oil stock ATPG.
finance.yahoo.com

Punched up my position in SUR. Another insurer selling below stated book value. This one profitable nine of past ten years, and has generally growing book value. Niche business which seems to be intact. Yahoo shows trailing p/e 6.4; forward 7.1. No div though.

===============================================================

OT: Adding FSTR now to my package of stocks relating to construction. FSTR should be a beneficiary of USA jobs creation stimulus efforts. (Infrastructure improvements) Too expensive for me for a value stock--- maybe squeeze in as a gaarp stock.

finance.yahoo.com

OT: Started a small few shares of APSG. "Applied Signal Technology, Inc. provides intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for the defense, intelligence, and homeland security markets." Not a value stock at current price, imo, and maybe not a gaarp stock either. Seems though that with alleged missile strikes and their success, a company like APSG could be assumed to be recipient of continued gov't contracts, even if overall defense budget declines. (Not that I know if USA defense expenditures are really being reduced.)
