The closest this country has come to something resembling fascism are under presidents Wilson, FDR, and Obama. Huey P. Long, had he been elected, might well have gotten us there (a strong argument can be made that he ran Louisiana as a fascist).

Every one of these characters were liberals or so-called progressives.

Which conservatives approached fascism?
