You Asked 'What's happening?'

The People leading your country don't see whats happening; or if they do they don't want to accept it but instead many (including a very few people on Obama's team) take all they can while there is some possibility of personal gain.
Like Bluestocking says we can't put your President in that second group, he means well but he is obviously in the first group and perhaps capable of changing paths (walking the talk) himself.
My previous posting names three very perceptive people (of many in your country) that know where it is heading (like it or not) and have ideas of how to reinvest wisely and get on that more sustainable path.

Above all The US needs a strategy of DEVOLVING your 'Imperial over reach' and transferring that investment into a sustainable democratic future! Lets face it with the bloated Military (Defence(?) Budget being the majority of your discretionary budget where else can the money come from to get you out of pending bankruptcy while building the public infrastructure for the real future that lies ahead?

Maybe instead of all of us eloquently ranting and raving about all the shit and corruption that is gone/going down; the thread topic could switch from politics to Leadership and staking out that transitional path.

Food for thought, Don Arni
