Ted, > And lets drop the pretense......you're most likely one of the people who voted for the tax rollbacks in OR.

I don't remember voting for any specific tax rollback in OR.

Heck, when I lived there, I didn't have many complaints about taxes. I mean, come on, there is no sales tax! Making up for it with higher income taxes is just part of being an Oregonian.

I figured that's why Oregon voters approved of the tax hikes. They aren't at the limit of taxation like Californians are. Government is smaller there and doesn't have to provide as many services.

During the past ten years, several rollbacks in taxes were passed in OR. The state gov't now is pretty much broke along with most of the local gov'ts. The rollbacks resulted from initatives promoted by the same kind of people who created prop 13. Last year, the Portland school district ran out of money and had to close early. Events like that are becoming more and more common in OR. OR had no choice now but to start raising taxes. Fortunately, they focused their efforts on the people who can most afford it.

Long live populism!

You realize, of course, that populism is what elected Scott Brown? It cuts both ways ...

I question the validity of teabag populism. Less a grassroots effort and more a movement promoted and paid for by corp. interests.
