Yes, I agree. Derivatives are bilaterial agreements. Thus,
counterparties of the firms that got on the government tit
got paid big taxpayer bucks, and we read all about that.

The alternative was Red Adair, a domino effect with 40%
unemployment and a collapse of 90% of banks.

The govt. had a choice. While acting under complete and utter
panic, they could not do Red Adair.

In fact, they could not do it for 10 years, which is
why this is a recurrent problem.
