I consider the problem to be chronic spending. Its out of control entitlement spending that will drive the future spending increases. The harm doesn't go away if we raise confiscatory tax rates in order to fund all that spending.

If it was workable I'd support a spending control amendment, but even if I had the ability to write and ratify my own amendment, and non qualms about using that ability, there really isn't any good way to do that.
