Well I'm no history buff, but I think that some would argue how he paid for those 8M jobs extended the great depression by tripling taxes. Giving the money to the government to spend, of course taking their cut and not getting the biggest bang for the buck.

It took WWII to get out us of the Great Depression, not FDR's WPA.

So are you advocating a big works program now?
