On His Last Day in Office, Obama Will Still Be Talking About What He Inherited

By: Jim Geraghty
The Campaign Spot

Ah, the inevitable, "I inherited" section on the deficit, in which President Obama was careful not to mention "I inherited" or Bush. The short version is, "my deficits were necessary to save us from a depression; my predecessor's deficits were because of two wars, a tax cut for the rich, and a prescription drug benefit that wasn't paid for."

The spending freeze does not get anything resembling applause from Pelosi; not much in the chamber, period.
