The View from the "center" on conservative threads reaction to the SOTU....

Hard to believe they saw the same speech. But then whenever Bush would spew all that Bushit I used to have the same reaction they do to Obama. Obviously their conclusion is that "we" (all liberals and all non-rightist centrists) are "wrong". Me, I figure if Obama farted roses and walked on water they'd complain about our flower loving president, and suggest that he was somehow undermining shipping with water walking.

I have never understood more clearly that there are people out there who like a president who takes us to war, even for spurious reasons, because it's "tough" and it's "American"- and for people who have that weird view of America, where it's all foggy lens 50's nostalgia and bunting and war heroes and evil villains who oppose Captain America- what can you do? It is an alternate reality and I'm glad I don't live in it. I just wish they had their own little alternate universe, so we didn't have to "upset" them, and their reality didn't have consequences for me.
