Dale, what's interesting to me is that conservative like Q, whose opinions I respect, place their faith in a "Republican" to be "less stupid" than Obama. When you take their focus off of the generic Republican, however, they don't seem to have a specific Republican in mind, and certainly not one who is in the national eye.

That's why, I think, Q replied that the election is a long ways off and someone will jump out of the woodwork.

I don't think the rational, effective Republican he envisions will emerge. There's been far too much anger and distrust generated in far too many Republicans and their nomination process will lead the eventual nominee to mouth positions that are more "stupid" than those they now attribute to Obama.

By the way, Obama isn't stupid but, as I worried before the election, he is young and naive. Life is teaching him some lessons, however, and maybe soon he'll stop overestimating the intelligence of American voters and the integrity of the congress, put on the gloves and get something done. Ed
