Maybe I should have worded it differently. I'm saying that we can't measure the basic well being of our nation by totalling dollar signs on the "things" we have.

And we can't desperately push for an economy that has to have more and more growth cause, guess what, we live in a fixed orb with limited resources to support an ever growing population...do the math.

So maybe we should start considering the many intangibles that are so important to our mental and physical health and get rid of the mindset that we can index our well being based on the monetary value of our standard of living.

It's not always the things you own that make you, or your society, happy. Ed
