CBS Rejects Ad for Gay Dating Site

Sat Jan 30, 2010 at 08:46:02 AM PST

Shocker:

Super Bowl network CBS rejected an ad Friday from ManCrunch.com, a gay dating Web site.

"After reviewing the ad, which is entirely commercial in nature, our standards and practices department decided not to accept this particular spot," said CBS spokeswoman Shannon Jacobs. "We are always open to working with a client on alternative submissions."

CBS has agreed to run an anti-choice ad from Focus on the Family, the group founded by James Dobson. Dobson is the man who believes parents should discipline their children with "two or three stinging strokes on the legs or buttocks with a switch," that homosexuals will destroy the Earth, and 9/11 was God's way of punishing Americans for abortion. But hey, those are exactly the kind of values that fit nicely within CBS's standards and practices, apparently. Two dudes kissing each other, on the other hand? Horror!

ManCrunch.com offered to pay the $2.5 million -- cash -- to air the ad, but CBS is claiming it rejected the ad because it "has had difficulty verifying [ManCrunch's] credit status."

Yeah. Right.
