People said the same thing about TSENG (now selling at $2 1/2). Remember them. I used to think S3 had a chance to survive. It doesn't look good now.

Here is part of a Computer Gaming World (Nov '97) article on 3D graphics cards, that I read over the weekend. It said :

"Noticeably absent from this year's graphics card roundup are S3 ViRGE-based card. There are a lot of cards out there, it's true, but most card vendors did'nt seem interested in having their S3 products tested. And while S3 seems to be regrouping, they're busy at work on two new graphics engines which will most likely see the light of day next spring.

The temporary absence of S3 was more than made up for by a host of new chips from NVIDIA, Number Nine, Trident and 3DLabs. Returning to the fray are 3Dfx, Rendition and ATI..."

S3 is missing the most profitable quarter of the year. Look at all the competition. I think they are in big trouble. This accounting fiasco just adds fuel to S3's fire.

I wish you luck, but you may want to consider the long term outlook for S3. I may scalp S3 in the morning for half a point, if the opportunity presents itself.
