his pt and it is a good one is this: There are all kinds of distractions that drivers deal with while driving -- we can legislate against all of them (which won't save any lives) -- or do as we do now -- rely on drivers desire to get where they are going safely to inhibit dangerous behavior. No it doesn't always work -- but neither does legislating every time a new gadget comes out -- you tell me that "magellan" is not a distraction -- tell me that talkative people aren't a distraction -- tell me that food isn't a distraction for some -- the list is endless

May as well legislate against having accidents or being distracted while driving in general -- his pt IS a GOOD one

That said, now as a parent -- when my son starts driving -- there's going to be some rules.
