I was in South Korea from 1973-1975. It was burned out dump at that time, with open sewers and much of population still living in squalor. I visited two years ago and what an amazing change. The place is a modern marvel. America made it happen. That's right. The good ol' red, white and blue. The Japanese would have crushed South Korea like a watermelon if it weren't for America. China just assume see it end up like North Korea, an Orwellian society that you should visit sometime just to see how good you have it (and how wrong you are).
