Hi again Mark. My 15 minutes were up, but I wanted to comment on..
a piece in your excellent summary that interested me:
>> In fact, any facing of the reality and steps to confront and master the reality of the situation that Novell finds itself in might do it. <<
I hate to be redundant, and I may not articulate my position as well as you do (I don't have a PhD..<g>), but I certainly agree in toto with what you have to say, especially with this statement. I myself prefer to put it this way (to Novell, that is):

Thanh, GREAT Post! >> VAR Business : After more than two years of waffling, Novell is about to use the power of its incumbency <<
Thanh, Thanks a lot! But for any Novell employee reading this, there's well over 1000 words in this article, but my eyes focused on this:
>> Many Novell VARs say the company may have allowed itself to be pummeled by Microsoft for too long, and that a confrontation may be its only option. <<
READ MY LIPS!!!
T-H-I-S I-S Y-O-U-R O-N-L-Y O-P-T-I-O-N !!!!!
A C-O-N-F-R-O-N-T-A-T-I-O-N !!!! Comprende'???? No corporate
BS, No Mr. Diplomatic nice guy's, No Tolerance, No nothing. Don't
you realize you guys are playing for ALL the marbles here? Don't you
see what Gates did to Apple (back in 85' when he got Scully to sign
away the rights to the MAC GUI?). And 10 Years later AAPL is
destroyed! Don't you see that? He WILL take your servers away. He
WILL erode your market share. You will NOT increase revenues or
shareholder value if you do not CONFRONT him.
Joe...<So DO it! I would rather lose all the $ I have in this GD company and go down in flames, if I knew a REAL fight was put up! Yep, I would rather that, that be saddled with a company that ran away with it's tail between it's legs crying "no fair", "wahhh".....like a bunch of wusses'.>
PS: Hey rita (from AOL). Do me a favor, would you make a copy of this post and FAX it to John Young please. =================================================================
