Thank you very much for the reference! I was aware of most of it but not all. The commentary makes it clear that the FED had more involvement than I was aware. It also makes it clear that the steps taken during the Reagan years were worse than I thought. However, I'm not ready to agree that it was essentially gutted by 98. In any event, it was Clinton that signed its final demise.

What's most disturbing is the slim chance we have of its essential provisions being reestablished unless conditions get a lot worse and I fear that they will.
