Please help me understand the taxes!
VLNC is a US based company.
They manufacture batteries in Ireland
which are ultimately shipped to the USA
and other countries.
Does the fact that their manufacturing
operations are in Ireland free them from
US corp income taxes on the sales revenue?

How about the Hanil joint venture? Are
VLNC's share of the profits subject to Korean taxes,
US taxes, neither or both? You don't have to
explain foreign tax credits, I've been thru
that on my own returns (YEACH!). But that
only gave me a credit for my foreign
investment earnings - I was still liable for
US taxes I just got credit for the overseas taxes
I had paid.

I work for a multinational, but as a s/w
engineer - i have no idea how the taxes
on corporate profits are paid!
