Presenting something better is important, but not directly relevant. It doesn't imply your motivation is not to oppose a process that will be ineffective except at forcing tax increases.

Get a bill that doesn't have such a bias, and that covers all of government spending, and then I'll agree the Republicans should support it, but not this proposal, its a bad idea.
