The writing is on the wall. NAND has endurance and reliability issues that only get worse as cells shrink. That may work for a camera or a MP3 player but on SSDs where there are thousands of writes even hourly if not sooner, NAND has major issues that will only get worse as the cells shrink. And once the flood gates open with massive production of some other technology to replace NAND, that same technology will also find its way into every other aspect of system that currently uses NAND. And that will be the start to the countdown to the end of NAND and in turn SNDK. It may take a few years but is going to happen. SSD advantages are huge. Anyone who has used one never wants to go back to HDDs. So the SSD is not going away. It's just gonna find a new memory to use.
