<<what is the cost of merc assembled in china vis a vis german assembled model of the same at retail?>> not clear. my point was primarily that wherever i live, i would buy the car i like, and locally assembled if at all possible, because of spare parts, ease of service along roadside, etc etc considerations. rarely would one find the same models locally assembled as well as imported in completed form at the same time.
