{ SQNA } on 11/3/97 STO

Stock was up on merger news with Arris to create AxyS. The new entity will have 28.8mm shares out, strong collaborations with Merck, Parke-Davis and others, about 1/3 of market cap in cash, and deep wide-ranging technology from genomics through state of the art chemistry.

More important for day traders, a little arb still remains. Buying SQNA below $14.85 gets you a share of the new company cheaper than buying ARRS (one SQNA = 1.35 Arris). ARRS was already undervalued in itself. Strong FA to go with TA.
