Journalist and PBS talk show host Charlie Rose will be back on the air Monday night, fully recovered from the dangerous heart surgery he underwent in March.

The 64-year-old host was making his way to Syria where he was to interview the president. His trip was cut short when he began experiencing shortness of breath in Paris, ultimately spending a month in the hospital to replace a mitral valve with a pig-heart valve. It is his second pig-heart valve replacement.

"There was some real question as to whether I would survive," Rose said. "He (the surgeon) said to me it was very close...I never thought at any point, myself, that I was going to die."

he didn't have time to fly to the States. nice try though
