I find it utterly amazing that the flight to safety takes place because Greece, whose economy might be smaller than that of North and South Carolina, is in trouble.

I find it even more amazing that the safe haven is the USD, a currency which it pains me to say is a mutt that is being devalued as we speak.

You want systemic risk? Wait until Britain's sovereign debt is whacked with a rating decrease, as it inevitably must be some time this year. Oh, that should be great fun. The USD will not serve as a haven then, I should think.

lock, load, hoard.....the price of gold now is a gift.
