following is from Cyrix ad in PC Magazine:

The reduced voltage version of the Media GX processor, suitable for use in laptops is now shipping. This processor will use 2.9-volt core with 3.3 volt I/O, while consuming slightly more than 4 watts at 150 MHz to just less than 6 watts at 200 MHz.

I thing the power requirements are low enough. This chip is still done using .35u process. When it shrinks to .25, the voltage will go down, and power requirements will go even further down.
