That is because there were ONLY TWO DEMOCRAT PRESIDENTS in that period of time after Nixon. <GGG>

And, only *one* of them had eight years to work on the deficit.

(But, even if we turn to the other one, the one-term President Carter... his single four years, even coming as it did at the tail end of an entire DECADE of stagflation and economic upheavals, STILL posted VASTLY LOWER DEFICITS then ANY of the 20 years of Republican Presidents thereafter... and even stronger growth in jobs and GNP then those following GOP Presidents averaged either. <g>)
