The lefties defense is no one really expects them to behave with any morality at all. So they're not hypocrites, they think. Though liberals don't go around saying they're amoral scoundrels when running for office. When Clinton ran for President, he admitted there'd been unfaithfulness in their marraige but gave the impression that was all behind him. He never said, hey, I'm gonna hit on every hot chick that enters the WH. Barney Frank never told the voters he was going to let a callboy live in his apartment. Etc etc etc.
