The metric I'm referring to is (Nation's Bank Debt + Public Debt)/GDP. We're way down on the list.

It's a good thing for to hear the hype about US debt, as I think spending, especially in terms of agricultural subsidies, military bases, pork in general, is ridiculous. But the notion that there is some sort of default risk on the USD is and has been a ridiculous notion. At least so say the international bond traders.
