Have just gone through about six weeks of a friend who was in remission on cancer asking a doctor to refer her for "Home Help" to help her with getting to medical appointments and housework. She was referred to "Hospice".

Within a week of having "Hospice" come in she was in a drugged state. I witnessed this. Within a month, she was diagnosed with an infection that needed antibiotics.

Temporarily, after the anti-biotics she seemed to be getting better-------then not so, to the hospital and now this woman in the prime of her life is in the care of hospice as she dies.

After hospice came to her home-------she was given a little box that looked like a laptop computer with numerous spaces for pills to be taken on a time schedule. I have never, never seen so many pills.

She was on everything imaginable from neurontin to oxycontin.

As we sat with tears in her eyes, she said I only ask the doctor for homehelp not for hospice. Why didn't the doctor tell me I am dieing.

Yes, imho she was dieing and dieing with the help of all of the drugs of hospice.

This writer will keep writing------this should not happen to any person in this way.
