I thought we had fairly well established that we disagreed on this issue. And that it didn't make much sense to keep pursuing it. I completely agree with the Krugman argument in that piece, including the notion that the interest on the debt can be handled with the caveats that he mentions.

His argument is that the deficit issue, short term, is manageable and thus we need to pay attention to bringing the economy back. Which would help the deficit no end, since some rather large portion is due to the decline in economic activity.

He argues that the debt is a big long term issue and offers ways to handle it.

He's not a "head in the sand" kind of guy.
