"Curiosity and conscience then leads one to form beneficial purposes."

Well, now "conscience" gets into a bald assertion as some sort of trump card?

"Beneficial purposes" is, of course, relative. Between species, such "purposes" are almost always polar opposites in terms of desired outcome. And even within species such "beneficial purposes" are subject to disagreement between red and black, and Republican and Liberal, and Chinese and My knees, and Muslims and Christians.

You throw out a sentence that sounds nice but under examination...what does it say?? Was Hitler curious? Was Son of Sam? Was Jack the Ripper? Are Muslims curious? Are Christians? Is a police man? A lawyer? The Crown? The Defense? The judge? The defendant?

Do all these groups and all these individuals also have a conscience?? So are they then led to form "beneficial purposes"??

So Jack the Ripper had a "beneficial purpose" and the whores he mutilated and murdered all had "beneficial purposes"--and on and on...

So now that we have (in previous posts) agreed that curiosity is a natural and ubiquitous aspect of humanity, we are led to the logical conclusion (if your "Curiosity and conscience then leads..." assertion is correct) that all purposes are beneficial except for those where either conscience or curiosity are (strangely) absent--and even then not necessarily NOT beneficial.

But how can all purposes be beneficial?? What can such a statement possibly mean?? Did somebody tell you that "Curiosity and conscience then leads one to form beneficial purposes"?? Did you read it in a book?? What made you think it was true??
