It is disturbing. As my friend broke down in tears after Hospice came, my friend told me her doctor never told her she was dieing and needed Hospice------and all she wanted was periodic home help.

Sensing that the doctor had not been straight-forward, I suggested to my friend that she call the doctor and ask if the doctor was prescribing Hospice to come to her home because the doctor, thought she, my friend, was dieing.

My friend did so the next day. The doctor denied believing my friend was dieing; yet turned the prescribing of medications over to a Hospice Doctor with a Hospice team (not just one but several coming to her home to coordinate her medicines).

After home visits by Hospice, antibiotics that failed to stem an infection thought to be sinus/respiratory and over a week in the Hospital------my friend is not expected to live through the next few days. This all within 1 months time.

She is now in a facility not controlled by Hospice but that Hospice sends a nurse into watch her die.

As far as I am concerned this is the future for many more Americans-----send in the Hospice team to the home, medicate them and then the next stage being the death facilities.

I am angry about the way the doctor weasled and was not truthful with her when prescribing Hospice. I am angry about the extreme number of medications prescribed that would make a well person ill much less someone who already has a disease or illness.

From Mark Twain--------

"When angry, count four:
when very angry, swear.
-----Mark Twain

I would add to that------

"Afer counting four and after swearing,
when very angry write and use that anger,
to prevent the same for others"
