That's what I do. I buy equal dollar amounts. If it comes out to 327 shares, I buy 327 shares. I try to keep most of the positions equally weighted ... value wise.

I will overweight a position if it's breaking out on price and volume. Otherwise, I try to keep everything equally weighted in dollar amounts. That's why I rebalanced last month. I had a few equities that performed rather well and I adjusted them down in value. Based on how the market has reacted lately, it was a very good move.

Sometimes I may just buy a 1/2 position or add a 1/2 position, but everything is based on dollar amounts.
