i am bullish on the stock medium to long term. i think a lot is going to happen in the next year, that will be trying and costly, but i think SGI will come out of it poised for excepional growth and profitability. i believe the model of high end development flowing down to the masses is sound and recent troubles started at that juncture three years ago when Clark left and TJ got his way on not spreading this stuff out. i believe that SGI will be in a unique position to lead in several areas characterised by high performance and elegance. i see a different role for MTI, turning ideas and software into hardware that will give SGI control over applications from top to bottom. as small consumer devices become more powerful, SGI will provide components that will drive some very cool items. the big play is their's to be had IMHO. as far as the Pixar leak, this is very close to my livelyhood, so i keep close tabs on the commings and goings of talented players. to me SGI is a technology company that took in a lot of strays from Apple, a marketing company. the big challange for SGI is to invent a way of selling it's goods, profitably, without having to resort to the babble of catchey, stupid marketing that insults those who know what they want. with Ramsey and his Silicon Studio crowd gone and discredited, and TJ's interactive television server universe past us, the worst is over. the world has an important place for a company like SGI, and with patience, the really awsome stuff, not too well understood by the masses, but things that will achieve future ubiquity, will do well. or the world will fall apart:) and yes, now i'm going to load up.
